On behalf of the Local Organizing Committee, I cordially invite you to actively participate in the 14th Congress of the International Association for Engineering Geology and the Environment. The Congress will be held from 21 to 27 September 2023 at the Century City International Convention Centre in Chengdu.

The congress is centered around the theme "Engineering Geology for a Habitable Earth" and aims to promote research development and cross-disciplinary collaboration in international engineering geology and environmental studies. A range of topics will be discussed including global climate change, geological hazard assessment and prevention, geotechnical properties of rock and soil mass, engineering geology for traffic, energy, urban and marine, ecological environment protection in major projects, and new theories and technologies in engineering geology. We welcome you to submit papers or abstracts and present your work at this esteemed academic event.

China is a unique and wonderful land with a diverse culture, population, climate, geography, and history. As the host city, Chengdu offers a wide range of tourist attractions. With a history of over 3000 years, Chengdu was founded by the state of Shu before being incorporated into China. One of its most ancient and successful irrigation systems is the site of Dujiangyan, watered by the Min River. The city is also home to the Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding. Additionally, Chengdu was awarded the title of City of Gastronomy by UNESCO. The city is famous for local dishes such as Hotpot, Mapo Doufu, and Dan Dan Mian.

IAEG 2023 in Chengdu is the perfect opportunity to experience the unique and diverse nature of China. We are eagerly looking forward to welcoming you to our charming city of Chengdu in September 2023.
